Terms and Conditions (T&C's)

1. Eligibility of Cars

Cars that were built before December 31, 1994 and are correctly registered or registered for use with dealer/daily plates are eligible to participate. The vehicles must be roadworthy.

By registering online, the participant agrees with the organizer on a binding contract. Registration is a provisional entry. Participation takes place at the invitation of the organizer. A binding commitment to take part in the rally (signing of contract) only comes into effect with the organizer's written order confirmation. Any entry fees that have already been paid will be refunded if the participant is not chosen to participate in the rally.

2. Entry Fee

The entry fee is paid when registering electronically on the SWISS CLASSIC WORLD RALLYE website.

The entry fee includes the following SWISS CLASSIC WORLD RALLYE items.

With the entry fee or parallel to the entry, a photo file of your vehicle in JPG format must be sent to the organizer by email by the end of the deadline. This photo file (min. 1MB, max. 5 MB) should be delivered to: rallye@swissclassicworld.ch

3. Minimum number of participants

The organizer reserves the right to cancel the event if the required minimum number of participants has not been reached by the closing date. In this case, those already registered will be informed immediately.

4. Cancellation deadlines

4.1. Cancellation/postponement of the rally by the organizer

If the rally is not permitted due to official regulations (e.g. general event ban), the rally will be postponed to the next SWISS CLASSIC WORLD event. In this case, the registration remains valid and the entry fee paid in part or in full will be transferred.

If the event is canceled at short notice, Art. 10 applies.

4.2. Cancellation of the rally by participants

If the rally takes place but a team cancels participation on its own initiative, the following rule applies:

  • If you cancel up to 60 days before the event, 50% of the entry fee paid will be refunded. If the entry fee has not yet been paid, the organizer is entitled to 50% of the total amount.

  • If canceled 60 days or more before the event, no refund will be given. The entry fee is owed in full.

These conditions apply regardless of whether there is a waiting list.

The payments are a flat-rate compensation for the expenses already incurred by the organizer. Taking out travel cancellation insurance is recommended.

5. The confirmation of participation is only valid for the registered vehicle

By registering, the participant accepts the regulations as well as the general conditions of participation and liability. This means that only the registered vehicle will be admitted to the rally. Participation takes place through written confirmation from the organizer.

If a vehicle is not ready to drive due to a defect, etc., a replacement vehicle can be reported. The change of vehicle must be announced in writing. The organizer reserves the right not to admit the replacement vehicle to the rally.

6. Check-in and technical inspection

Each participating team must check in at the event office and attend technical inspection within the time specified by the organizer. Valid vehicle documents must be carried for the participating vehicle in accordance with the valid national regulations of the country of origin of the vehicle. For vehicles with dealer plates, both the collective vehicle ID card and the original vehicle documents must be carried. For vehicles with day plates, both the day permit and the original vehicle documents must be carried.

In addition, a personally signed disclaimer of liability must be presented before the rally documents and rally signs are handed over. This can also be signed upon check-in on site.

7. Responsibility and liability of participants

The participant takes part in the event at his own risk. Participation in the event involves risks. The participant bears sole civil and criminal responsibility for all damage caused by him, unless an exclusion of liability has been agreed upon.
Applicants and drivers waive any claims of any kind for damages arising in connection with the event against the organizer, its bodies, its commissioned instructors, other vicarious agents and vicarious agents, marshals, marshals, route owners and those responsible for the infrastructure, as well as all other persons involved in the organization of the event Event related.

Applicants and drivers waive any claims of any kind for damages arising in connection with the event organizers, its bodies, its commissioned instructors, other vicarious agents, marshals, route owners and those responsible for the infrastructure, as well as all other persons involved in the organization of the event.

This waiver also applies to relatives and dependents of the participant. The signing participant releases the organizer(s) from third-party claims in accordance with the above provisions. If the participant is not himself the owner and holder of the vehicle he is using, he also releases the organizer(s), his/her vicarious agents and the commissioned instructors from claims of the vehicle owner and owner in accordance with the scope of the above liability waiver.

The waiver of liability and release from liability become effective for all parties involved when they are signed by the participant.

Legal representatives of underage participants confirm their knowledge that they are solely responsible for supervising the participating participant during the event. Due to the inexperience of minors, there is generally an increased risk.

The participant assures that he has taken note of this exclusion of liability and has ensured sufficient insurance coverage himself.

This exclusion of liability also applies to any damage to the vehicle caused by attaching start numbers and event license plates (rally signs). The participants must attach the signs to their vehicle themselves. If the participant uses on-site support staff for this purpose, any liability for any resulting damage is excluded.

The participant also waives any claims against the organizer that arise in connection with natural events. It also accepts the principles set out in Article 8.

Regardless of the assurances made when registering, an additional waiver of liability must be signed personally by each participant and submitted to the organizer before the start of the event.

8. Rules of conduct at the rally

8.1. The participants agree to drive safely and considerately. Drivers adapt their driving style to local conditions and to avoid excessive emissions (noise, exhaust fumes, annoyance to spectators or other road users). They also agree to avoid damage to land or infrastructure. The organizer is not liable for damages, fines or other sanctions resulting from non-compliance with these rules.

8.2. Participants acknowledge that the event does not encourage excessive speed or require driving maneuvers that contradict current road traffic legislation. The participants agree to always and everywhere put safety ahead of their score. The applicable road traffic legislation must be followed at all times and everywhere. Roads with a driving ban may only be used if this is noted in the road book due to an exemption. The organizer is not liable for fines or other sanctions resulting from non-compliance with these rules.

8.3. The specified route leads along streets and paths that are suitable for normal-sized cars. In case of doubt (e.g. in bottlenecks or intersection maneuvers with oncoming traffic), the navigator should get out and keep an eye on the space available. The organizer is not liable for damage caused by careless maneuvering, insufficient ground clearance or excessive dimensions (length, width, height) of the vehicle.

8.4. Even if assistance or signals are given by the organization staff (e.g. when parking or leaving a parking space), the participant is responsible for ensuring that the path is clear, that the flow of traffic is not hindered and that no obstacles are touched or damaged. The organizer is not liable for damages resulting from non-compliance with this rule.

8.5. The organizer is not liable for any errors contained in the roadbook. The participants are not entitled to make any claims in this regard against the organizer or a third person.

9. Exclusion from the event

The organizer reserves the right to exclude participants from further participation in the event of gross violations of the regulations or road traffic legislation, as well as if they disrupt the event or endanger others. In the event of an exclusion, no refund of the nominal amount is given.

10. Driver briefing and driving license

The driver agrees to take part in the driver briefing before the start of the rally. Every driving participant assures the organizer that they have a valid driving license for the vehicle they are driving. The driver must carry the driving license with him during the rally.

11. Cancellation of the event due to force majeure

The organizer reserves the right to make any changes to the announcement due to force majeure, for security reasons or ordered by the authorities or to cancel the event if this is due to circumstances that were not foreseeable when the contract was concluded and are not within the organizer's control . Further claims for damages for expenses incurred in connection with the event such as travel, hotel bookings, etc. are excluded in any case. If the event has to be canceled for reasons related to the Corona epidemic (e.g. official prohibition, high official requirements, the ongoing high risk of infection or similar), the force majeure regulations apply accordingly.

12. Publication of images and films

The participant agrees that images and films taken during the event will be published in press releases, in printed matter and on the websites of the organizer(s) and their sponsors and partners. The participant accepts that the vehicle license plates as well as the vehicle occupants may be visible in the images.

13. Data privacy

In principle, our data privacy applies to the rallies:

  • The organizer saves the participants' data for the purpose of executing the contract and, if necessary, to inform them by email about similar and follow-up events.

  • The start lists, which are published on the Internet and handed in at check-in, contain the last names of the team members, their country of origin and the make, model and year of manufacture of their car.
